JKids presents a Jewish Enrichment program that will cater to all of our students, no matter the situation for the upcoming school year. The program is titled Bringing it Home: Making Judaism come alive through experiential and interactive learning.
JKids is offering two tracks:
In-Person JKids: Engaging classes following social distancing government guidelines.
Sundays | 10- 11:30 am | Chabad of Pittsford | Aleph Champ Hebrew reading program will be done virtually for both tracks.
Wednesday after-school option:
12 pm- 2:30 pm | Chabad of Pittsford
Virtual Hebrew School: Virtual Hebrew School with live teachers and engaging classes.
Sundays | 11:45 am- 12:45 pm | Aleph Champ time slots will be arranged between each teacher and family
Bringing it Home has been developed to ensure that the content is both developmentally appropriate and user-friendly for both settings. The curriculum is scaffolded to cater to each student within three age groups: K-2, 3-5 and 6-7.
Our curriculum has been designed to be taught through a diverse set of mediums, including drama, construction, STEM, and stop-motion animation. The curriculum comprises seven units, focusing on lessons that are learned from each room of the home. The subjects will come alive as students learn about the Jewish holidays, empathy, respect and integrity amongst other life skills and Jewish values while exploring each room of their house.
From September until October 18th, the Jkids Sunday program will be combined with the Wednesday JKids after-school, as many of the holidays fall out on Sundays and we can’t have regular classes. This is reflected on the curriculum overview below.
